Area Manager

Position Summary:

The Production Area Manager will oversee the production process for all products within specified Product Division and coordinate all activities to ensure customer orders are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner. The Production Area Manager will be visible on the production floor, and is responsible for successful achievement of metrics, goals, and objectives in quality, safety, and productivity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic leadership, oversight, and guidance to production leaders and associates.
  • Reviews, recommends, and implements improvement methods, processes and strategies for enhanced performance and cost reductions.
  • Creates the production schedule and is a visible force on the production floor
  • Ensures focus on safety, lean improvements, good housekeeping, and quality processes
  • Reviews forecast information to establish budgeting and staffing requirements
  • Leads, supports, and develops cross functional teams for successful manufacturing product launches and improvements
  • Analyzes and resolves production issues and methods to increase efficiency
  • Actively engages with employees to empower, develop, and create an engaging work environment
  • Communicates production metrics and project status to stakeholders
  • Ensures employee compliance with policies and regulations
  • Collaborates effectively with other leaders and teams to meet production schedules and customer requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 years of previous experience in a production environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Previous LEAN manufacturing experience
  • Previous experience as a “change agent” or in leading a culture transformation to LEAN manufacturing.
